Getting a late night call from the coroners office always makes my heart race. Breaking the news to my crew and fellow outreachers was a must but I didn't wanna. This guy goes as far back as homeless outreach does for me. I've known him greater than 10 years and he became family. I remember nights around his camp fire, phone calls checking to see if we were safe in inclement weather (he slept in a tent but wanted to make sure we were ok, that's love right there), Happy Mothers Day texts, late night phone calls just to "talk it through" and ease the loneliness, discussions about what bands rocked and how he always had my back but most of all his friendship. My heart aches over the loss of our dear friend, he meant so much to us and "grew up" with many outreach volunteers. RIP Curtis, my brother ❤️

P.S. I am happy to report that he passed away in his own apartment, yessss! He eventually was housed and we were blessed to be apart of that as well.

The Forgotten Louisville is nothing without our volunteers so I wanted to give each and every one of you a Saturday shout out! The old saying is "it takes a village" and you guys show up and show out every single week. From the inside jobs, to the frontliners and the boots on the ground folks, you are ALL simply amazing! We are always looking for volunteers to help with meal prep/serve at the lot, food prep for our street teams, help with clean up, street team volunteers, and soon we'll need some muscle to help relocate our storage unit. If you or your organization would like to get involved please don't hesitate to ask and yes, please share this post. There's nothing to small or insignificant to the cause. Feel free to comment or message below. ... See MoreSee Less

I need help or some resources that can actually help me... I am homeless and have been SINCE NOV 7 2016. I have been living in my truck with 2 dogs 12 and 5 and 3 cats 8 and two 2yrs old... I can't seem to get any governmental help since I don't have any children(living)... I have never been convicted of a crime or been to in jail... An I'm not on any drugs... All I can do is collect my ssi check which is only 735 for a whole month... The weather is becoming hot and the truck is unbearable during humid days..... Does anyone actually have any resources that can actually help me... I am at the point where I only have 1 option... An it is not living... I know my days are numbered unless I can find some help...
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME AND MY BABIES BECAUSE I REFUSE TO GIVE THEM UP.. THEY ARE THE ONLY UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND FAMILY I HAVE IN MY LIFE THAT WILL NOT ABANDON ME THEREFORE I WILL NEVER ABANDON THEM OR GIVE THEM UP... HELP .. SOMEBODY PLEASE
