During our Wednesday serve, a man approached me and asked if I was part of this group. I told him I was a volunteer. He handed me some money ( which I glanced at and thought it was a ten or a twenty) and said he appreciated our efforts to help the homeless. I thanked him and asked if I could have a hug. He gave me a hug and walked away, and I continued preparing for our serve. When I got home, I remembered my encounter with the kind gentleman. I pulled out the bill that was folded and thought how generous he was to donate $10. When I unfolded the bill, it was actually a $100!

I wish I would have taken an extra moment to get the gentleman’s name, but sir, if you are reading this post, please know how much your gift helps us continue to help our friends!

There are soooo many good people out there who do what they can to make a difference. Hate and division is tiresome. Kindness is liberating!
